FAQs
Baby massage combines the principles of Swedish and Indian massage, and elements of reflexology. We’ll work through a series of massage strokes that you can use with your baby, with ideas for adapting them as your child grows, practicing compassion and attachment through nurturing touch.

What is baby massage?
The course runs for consecutive five weeks. Each session lasts 90 minutes - although we’re baby-led, so anything can happen!
2
How long is the course?
What do I do if my baby needs a feed/changing/a nap?
3
That’s ok! We’re baby-led throughout, so please do whatever your baby needs to do. It’s also ok if they get a bit upset during the session - they’re just telling you what they need. There’s plenty of time to repeat the massage strokes, and we cover all of them multiple times throughout the weeks. We’ll talk about your baby’s cues in the first week too, because it’s important not to massage a baby who doesn’t want to be massaged.
What happens during a session?
4
We have a similar structure to each week - we’ll catch up, learn some new massage strokes, and practice the previous strokes. We’ll talk about some of the benefits of infant massage, and how you might take the principles with you as your child grows. There’s lots of opportunity for chat and questions, and absolutely no awkward introductions or “tell me an interesting fact about yourself”.
Is there an age limit for my baby?
5
My baby massage classes are suitable from birth to 12 months, so you can join at an age that feels right for you and your baby.
You and your baby! And anything that they may need during a session for changing/feeding/naps. Please bring a small towel if you’re able to, but I will have spares available.
